Welcome to the Concho Valley Partnership

The Concho Valley Partnership is an organization dedicated to enhancing educational opportunities for students in the 13 county Concho Valley Region. The Partnership works with area school districts to promote college and career readiness through the following programs: Tech Prep, College Access Challenge Grant, Legislative Leadership Academy, and the Grand Slam Reading Jam. These programs encourage students in elementary, middle, and high school to set their sights high and achieve their goals!

Tech Prep Programs provide students with the opportunity to earn college credit while taking high school courses. In 2010, 934 students earned 5180 hours of college credit at Howard College for an estimated scholarship value of over $1,000,000

The College Access Challenge Grant allows students to learn the language of Higher Education and use their time in high school to prepare for their college education. The College Access Challenge Grant provides materials to schools that assist students in applying to college, applying for financial aid, and registering and attending the college of their choice.

The Legislative Leadership Academy allows High School Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors to complete Leadership Training, Visit the State Capitol, and attend Howard College during the summer for a $25 service fee. Students earn up to 4 college credit hours and learn leadership, employment, and community involvement skills. Students must apply to the program and complete a rigorous interview process before selection.

The Grand Slam Reading Jam is a Partnership with the San Angelo Colts. Students in grades K-6 are able to earn a free ticket to a Colts game by reading 5 books. Students who attend a Reading Jam game can get autographs, go on the field for the national anthem, and get a free prize and a Happy Meal from McDonald's.
